At last night’s East Longmeadow school committee meeting, I spoke about DESE’s recent guidance for vaccinating children 5 to 11 years old. (1) It is not the role of schools to “promote and administer COVID vaccination” as DESE suggests. (2) I am extremely uncomfortable with the proposal to set up vaccination clinics in elementary schools. (3) It’s wrong to ban unvaccinated students from school sports. Our kids have lost enough over the past year and a half.
Thank you!!!! I am highly opposed to vaccinating my children with an experimental vaccine that is still in phase 3 trials. I’m highly opposed to them holding vaccination sites on school property during school and after school. I’m also highly opposed to vaccinated sports, I’ve heard Belchertown is putting this in place as we speak.
Are you aware that
Massachusetts Senate Bill 1517, sponsored by Sen. Rebecca L Rausch (D), and companion, House Bill 2271, Sponsored by Reps Paul J Donato (D) and Vargas (D) Would allow children of any age to be vaccinated without parental knowledge or consent, even if the child is intellectually disabled?
Also
House Bill 2411, Sponsored by Rep. Andres X Vargas (D), would repeal religious exemptions for students in daycare, K through 12 in Massachusetts.
Both bills were still in the public health Committee in July.
Thanks again Shawn Carleton

I am aware of the bills. I wrote a letter to the editor of the Republican a couple months ago regarding those bills.
