Yesterday I spoke to the school committee regarding the deceptively-named “Safe Schools Program” which was added to the elementary curriculum last month.
For more on that story click here.
According to DESE’s website, the program “provides training and technical assistance relating to LGBTQ students and staff” to facilitate “understanding sexual orientation and gender identity.” The program is available “in public schools across the state including public preschools.”
I expressed my concerns and objections to the program and asked the committee to inquire into the extent of the “Safe Schools” lessons and what they entail.
If you’re an East Longmeadow parent who shares my concerns, please email the school committee members and let them know how you feel.
Their email addresses are available by clicking here.
Hello Justin,
By God’s Grace I came across your publication this evening! Amazing! Please contact me as my husband and I are very concerned of this same issue/topic. (I have already been actively working on this since LAST February(2021!) with NO resolve (yet) from Superintendent Smith) Please contact me to discuss further.
Standing for our children,
Amy Ganci
