The East Longmeadow mask mandate expired today. The health department has replaced it with a “mask advisory” which
advises that all residents, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask or face covering when indoors (and not in your home).
The advisory then recites the usual platitudes about COVID vaccines. It ends by reassuring residents that the three unelected health board members will continue to
review COVID-19 data, transmission, and vaccination rates for the Town of East Longmeadow and take appropriate action if needed.
Despite the end of the mask mandate, the health board’s “declaration of emergency” appears to remain in place.
