Yesterday Timothy Allen, principal of Birchland Park Middle School, proudly announced that the school has “more transgender students than we’ve ever had and more gender fluid students than we’ve ever had.” He also touted the school’s newly-formed “Pride Club” that recently took part in the faculty’s LBGTQ training.

Great work, Mr. Allen! Wish there were more Principals out there like you. Also, the poll question on this page is insulting. “Propaganda” insinuates that these children are being mislead…The person spreading propaganda is Justin McCarthy…but that is par for the course for journalists these days.

Great job Mr. Allen and the entire BPMS staff. Teaching our kids to value and be tolerant of the LBTGQ+ community, and creating a safe environment for our LBTGQ+ youth, is of the utmost importance.

Imagine a world where students feel safe to discuss who they are and given the space to explore who they may or may not become. A HUGE congratulations for the staff at this school for accepting students and giving them a place to be safe.
